Reeden's 1st Birthday Party

I finally got the pictures back from his party!  I went with a blue, green, and brown with a hint of owl theme ;)  I LOVED his cake and his smash cake, adorable!

The decorations for the cake table were almost all things I already had. The chevron piece in the middle was scrap fabric I had from Reeden's curtain, the owl mug with the straws was a gift from my mom last year, the owl chalkboard, blue tall owl, and the picture frame were all decor in my house. I bought the paper fans from party city and hot glued them on a foam board that I covered with a plastic table cloth. The 2 blue polka dot bowls I picked up at Wal-Mart for .97 cents!! The flag banner I bought at Hobby Lobby and just cut out and glued on themed scrapbook paper.

For the tables I just used plastic table cloths and wrapping paper down the middle taped down on the ends! Cheap way to spice up a drab looking table! I used balloons from Party City and pictures of Reeden newborn to 12 months as the center pieces.

Reeden wasn't too sure if he liked everybody staring and singing to him...
But once he saw the candle and the cake he was over it :)
He did so good, after a little light coaching, he blew out his candle on his own!!

His first taste of icing was a success! He is officially a fan.

Let the show begin...little ham!

We attempted to open presents, which was me opening them and showing them to him if he happened to take a break from playing with the cards and other kids haha.

Thanks to everybody who attended an dhelped celebrate our little man's FIRST birthday!!

Reeden's 12 month-1 YEAR Update

I know I already posted a birthday tribute but saying it one more time can't hurt right?! This morning when he woke up I came into his room singing happy birthday and all I got was a look of, mom you're crazy! Ha just like me, wait til I have had my breakfast before we talk too much ;) Happy Birthday Reeden!

Height/Weight: He weighed 23.75 lbs and was 31 inches long! He is in the 98th percentile for his height!

Sizes: Clothes are still the same as last month 12-18 months, but he wears a size 5 shoe now and the next diapers I buy will be a size 5.

Pictures of his 1st hair cut
Daily: Reeden took his first steps by his self Sunday night while playing with me and Daylin!! Then took 2 more the next day,  but no more since then! I gave him his first hair cut last week and he did great! I was worried he would be too interested in the scissors for me to do anything. His birthday party was on Saturday and we all had a blast! I'll do a separate post on that once I get the pictures back :) This month has been full of firsts and fun and I'm sure there's more to come!

Eating: We are officially done with formula! We have been for about 2 weeks now. He has 5 oz whole milk when he wakes up and then usually oatmeal for breakfast. Lunch he eats a banana and whole milk and a grilled cheese(or something along those lines) For dinner I try to have a meat or protein food for him and a vegetable, carrots, green beans, peas, I try to just mix it up so he doesn't get tired of things. He has milk again with that meal too. He currently loves teddy grahams for a snack. Goldfish are becoming a favorite also.

Sleeping: Last month I said I was sleep training to have him put him self to sleep, and I'm happy to say we accomplished our goal! Naps and bedtime I take him to his crib, tuck him in, walk out, and close the door and I'm done he goes right to sleep! He is still taking a nap mid morning, and they have been lasting from 2-3 hours! His evening nap is hit and miss though, some days I can tell he needs it, others he just powers right thru until bedtime.

                                            Milestones:
Took his first steps 11-10-2013
First hair cut 11-07-2013
Can say a 3 syllable word- Buffalo(this makes me laugh)
Colored his first picture
Has 8 teeth now

My baby is ONE!

Reeden Cohen Davis You are ONE!
My sweet, funny, smart, loving 7 lb 1 oz baby boy is now a 24 lb one year old! I can't begin to describe how amazing and perfect you have made my life. My first year of parenthood was not always easy, but was ALWAYS rewarding. Everyday of this past year I have watched you grow and learn. We have gone thru countless diapers, bottles, baths, clothes, lost plenty of sleep in the beginning, had a scary night in the E.R.! Not to mention all of the cuddles, kisses, hugs, play times, dances, and peek-a-boo sessions. You remind me what this life is really about. Of all the things daddy and I do for you, YOU have done so much more for us.  You are the one who taught us all about what true love is. Who I consider the very best thing about me,( I'm sure daddy would say the same) Who helped me want to be a better person, mother, and wife. But most importantly, You made me a mother! I will forever be grateful, thankful, and proud to call you my son. Happy 1st Birthday sweet boy! We love you so good!!

Happy Halloween!!

Reeden's 1st Halloween didn't go like I thought it would... He didn't want to wear his glasses or his shoes or take pictures, etc! I managed to get a few pictures and they will just have to do. Hopefully next year he will understand a little more and be able to enjoy it because this year it just put him in a grumpy mood and made this momma not a fan of the holiday.
                                                           Clark Kent/Superman
Peyton(my niece) and Reeden...Isn't she the cutest little pumpkin?!

We finally made it back home in time for him to examine all of his goodies before bedtime!
