10 month Update

Better late than never, right?!  Reeden turned 10 months old last week!  It's starting to really sink in now that in 56 days my "little" baby boy will be 1 year old :'(

Height/Weight: I don't have any new numbers for this section this month. I do know that carrying him to his crib at night has become a hassle, he is half as long as me, haha.

Sizes: Reeden can wear clothes varying in size from 12 months-24 months, it just depends on the brand. He wears a size 4 shoe in most brands although his Toms are just about too small. The diaper situation is killing me! A size 4 has started making little red places on this inner thighs but a size 5 is too big :/

Daily: I'm not going to lie, this month has been a hard one for us both! Reeden has been super cranky with teething. He started waking up thru the night which means a cranky mommy too! I'm not used to this waking up at 2:30 in the morning business!!  His schedule has been completely off too! I'm so hoping this will end soon, he has slept thru the night the past 3 nights so crossing my fingers we are going to get back to normal.

Eating: As I said above ^ his schedule has been off so I can't say for sure how much he has been eating for the past month.  He doesn't really care for his baby food anymore, he would rather have real food or at least some kind of food he can feed himself. The past few days he hasn't wanted his bottle except for in the morning, it's an all day thing trying to get his milk in for the day!

Bedtime: He still goes to bed at 9:00 but as I said, he has been waking up at least once thru the night.  He takes 2 naps, 1-1 1/2 hour in the morning and 1-2 hours in the evening.
                                                 Milestones:
Says daddy, nana, owl, dog, no, papaw, moon, kitty, mama, bye, uh oh
Claps
Walks behind toys
Walks holding onto things
Gives kisses and pats on the back ;)
Eating more solid foods

9 month Update

Can you believe that in just 3 short months my little baby will be 1!!!  I say this in every update, but time is flying by and my little man is growing up too fast!

Height/Weight: Reeden had his 9 month check up yesterday and weighed 22.25 pounds and was 29 1/4 inches tall, that's 2 feet 5.25 inches(he's half as tall as me :/) He was in the 90th percentile for both. I have a big boy ;)

Sizes: Reeden is wearing 12-18 months clothes and size 4 shoes. Some size 3 still work just depends on the brand.  He is in size 4 diapers.

Daily: As you know from my last post, Reeden is crawling!  So our day pretty much consists of me "trying" to clean, straighten up, do laundry, while chasing him around as he gets into EVERYTHING! But I love it :) He still likes being in his walker and will crawl to it and pull up and walk a little behind it while he pushes it.  He actually was pulling up before he started crawling. A new not so fun, added routine, to our day is temper tantrums! :(  Our routine from the last update with everything else is still the same.

Eating: Reeden still has four 6 oz bottles of milk a day, although we are trying to feed at least 2 of those feedings in a sippy cup.  He eats 3 baby food meals a day and "has" to have or try anything we are eating ;) He snacks on cheerios, puffs, mum-mums, yogurt bites, etc through out the day also.

Bedtime: Reeden goes to bed at 9:00 almost everynight and sleeps until 9:00-9:30 A.M. Except for 2 nights this week he woke up at 4:00 a.m. ready to play? I don't know what that was about but I'm glad it's over!!

                                                          Milestones:
  Crawling
Dog is his new favorite word
  Says Nana
  Pulling up
  Points at everything
  "Clicks" with his tongue
Shy around strangers and with anybody really when he first sees you

On the move!

Reeden is crawling!!  He had been doing this "army" crawl for a while or scooting his self where he wanted. Sometimes, when he thought no one was watching, we would catch him actually crawling to something he really wanted, but as soon as he saw us it was back to his belly and the whining would start. (Sneaky little boy ;)) This week though, Sunday to be exact, he must have decided enough was enough and he just took off.  He had already been pulling up on EVERYTHING, so now that he can go wherever, there's no stopping him! Anything with in his reach is fair game!

This is his favorite thing to do now! Crawls to the entertainment center, opens doors, scatters all the dvds! :/  The days of a clean, or at least presentable house are over!

A little behind...7 month pictures

These pictures were taken 2 months ago!! Seriously, time flies, my baby boy will be 9 months old tomorrow!  I'm in love with these, a little late sharing them, but too cute not too ;) I'm so lucky to have a photographer in the family to capture these moments for me!

Confessions

Long time no post, huh? Do you ever have those days when nothing goes right, you feel like crap, and have plenty of pity parties? Yeah...pretty much sums me up for the past MONTH!! I don't know if it's the change in our schedule, my constant battle with losing this baby weight, or Reeden's "fabulous" teething that set this mood for me.  One thing is for sure though, this life that I LOVE, I don't always LIKE.  It's not easy. It gets tiring always putting someone else's needs before my own.  I would never want to go back to life before Reeden, but to be completely honest, there are moments that I long for the simplicity of not having a baby. Days when it was just Daylin and I.  There are days I feel caged in, sitting on the sidelines. I have been envious of other mamas who seem to be able to do it all. Those are for sure, selfish moments, but nevertheless, those feelings do show up from time to time. However.. Those failure days, those frustrating moments, with a baby who wouldn't nap that day, or saying goodbye to spontaneous plans, with anything negative you could say about being a mother, it doesn't take long to remember why I wanted this life so badly, and why I truly love my life so much. I have so much to learn, so many areas to grow!  I have an incredible task before me, being trusted with the life of another, to raise, to teach, to love. My job is enormous, but watching my son grow up is Beautiful!!

8 Month update

This year is just flying by! Seems like yesterday Reeden was a tiny baby, now he is 8 months old!!

Height/Weight: I still don't have any accurate measurements for him. Next month at his 9 month visit we will see how much he has gained and grown:)

Routine: Our days usually go like this...

8:00/8:30- wakes and has his bottle
9:30- he takes his morning nap which varies in time from half and hour to an hour and a half!
10:30- plays in the floor with toys, then in his walker while I go about my morning routine.
12:00/12:30- lunch time
1:00- more playtime, outside time if the weather is good.
2:00/2:30- has his afternoon nap
4:00- he has a bottle and baby food
5:00- usually playtime with daddy while I fix dinner.
6:00/6:30- eats dinner with us(usually snacks on puffs or mum-mums)
8:00- time for cereal and his night time bottle
9:00- time to start settling down, we read a book to him or he plays with soft quiet toys.
9:30/10:00- Bedtime

Sleeping: Reeden is still doing great with sleeping through the night. He takes 2 naps a day, every once in a while he will have 3 if one of them is shorter than usual.

Eating: Reeden still has the same eating schedule as last month. The boy loves his puffs, banana, sweet potato, yogurt, strawberry-apple, doesn't matter the flavor, he LOVES them.

Sizes: Reeden now wears 12 month clothing! He is still in size 3 diapers and size 3 shoes.

Says mama, dada, baba, papaw, bye, and hello

Waves hello and bye bye

Pulling up on everything

Happy Anniversary!!

Marriage is amazing and the biggest blessing in my life, (besides the birth of our son) but it's not all rainbows and sunshine. We have gone through some rough times together- it is work! Years passed, went through a deployment, school started, a baby was brought into this world and here we are- seven years later. I am still proud.  Every once in a while our marriage goes through the "normal" cycle and we get to a point where the quirks we each have start to bother us when they normally wouldn't. Phone calls are less frequent, and we spend less time together and more time in front of the computer or tv. Those are the times, I think, that count the most, the times when instead of calling it quits, or becoming even more distant, we remember what is most important and get back in sync.

Seven years ago we shared the most perfect day, we have had so much fun, just the two of us! But on November 14th, 2012 our love grew even larger, when we welcomed our precious baby boy! Now we can have even more fun and memories, just the 3 of us:)  I can't wait to see what the future has in store for our little family. Happy 7th Anniversary!
