Dr. Visits,Teething & Poison Control...OH MY!

Seriously, being a mama is H.A.R.D.! Especially with a sick baby.  I have total respect for all of the moms out there with more than one to care for or who are doing it on their own!  Reeden has been sick with a respiratory/sinus infection for over a week now. He couldn't talk, not eating, coughing, wheezing, and running a temp! Both of us have been in tears more than once in the past week! Mostly due to the lack of sleep we were both getting. He also cut all 4 of his eye teeth this week, at the same time!  If that wasn't bad enough, he spilled a whole bottle of scented oil all over his self and the floor! All of this happened while I was making the bed.  I wasn't sure if he tried to drink any, or if he put his hands in his mouth so I had to call poison control for the first time in my life! I wanted to know what symptoms to be watching for in case he did.  I had just read online about a baby boy the same age as Reeden, who ingested less than a teaspoon of oil, and was hospitalized for over week, almost killing him! Talk about a panic attack!!  Thankfully after an hour of monitoring him he showed no signs that he had ingested any! Needless to say I went through the whole house and got rid of EVERYTHING!!  I am very thankful and grateful for my husband, who volunteered to stay with Reeden so I could have a few hours to myself.  After the day we had I was definitely not passing that up! I'm happy to say that after numerous breathing treatments and rounds of antibiotics Reeden is finally on the mend! What a rough week, but despite all of that I wouldn't trade one day of my life, (no matter what I said at the time) for anything in the world! It may not be glamorous, but it's still better than anything else:) Happy parenting mamas! Hope you are having a great week!

Update

Hello! Where has the time gone?! I haven't posted in 1 month and 2 weeks! I'm trying my best to get back into the swing of things, so until then bare with me.  Since I last posted we have had another snow storm, built our 1st snowman, got our 1st black eye, and jumped on the trampoline for the 1st time!! This past month has also been filled with lots of traveling, just an hour or 2 away is as far as we have gone, but with a toddler that's a long day/days! It's pretty much exhausting! Reeden will be 16 months tomorrow! Seriously where has my little baby gone? He is changing and maturing and growing so much! It's definitely bittersweet. I won't do a whole detailed update but at his check up on Feb. 26th he was 27 lbs and 33 1/4 in. 95th % for weight, 98th% for heighth! He is saying 20+ words and speaking so clearly and in little sentences (:  He said "I love you" to us for the 1st time on Feb.24th! (That's right I know the exact date and time) Melted my heart and his daddy's ;) He is just the sweetest little boy ever! Here's some pictures of what's been going on around here while I have been away!

And yes, we used the swimming pool as a sled again! Looks like Daylin may have liked it more than Reeden!

This was the result of his new favorite thing "spinning". He spun and spun until he fell right on the corner of that mean end table!! :(

So sweet!!
Waiting to get shots at his 15 month check up.

Ceiling Fan Re-Do

Ok so we have been living in this house for 6 years, and I'm just now getting to this?! All of that time I have been looking at this poor, out of date, ugly ceiling fan hanging over our bed! I decided that instead of buying a new one, I would save money and just paint it. I mean it still works fine, so why pay a couple hundred dollars for a new one, when a little spray paint can spruce it up and make it look brand new! I'm so happy with how it turned out and can't wait to show you how well it goes with the rest of the bedroom redo! Here's a look at the before.

I know you are loving the fabulous designs on the fan blades!!

1. First, I had Daylin take it down for me. Make sure the power is off before doing this.

2. We took the blades and the rest of the detachable pieces off.

3. I dusted and washed each piece, then laid them out to dry.

4. For the fan blades, I chose Rust-Oleum Spray paint in Flat Brown.

5. For the base and hardware, I chose Rust-Oleum spray paint in Oil Rubbed Bronze. Make sure you tape the openings around the motor and the light bulb slots before painting.

6. Let those dry overnight and reassemble.

Here is the final result! I still want to change out the globes but other than that I'm so happy with my "NEW" ceiling fan!

So much better right?! A few more before and afters to really see the change:)

Snow days!

Happy snow day #2!! Yesterday we got 3-4 inches of snow in our area. That's quite a bit for here so of course there's no school for the whole week, which means daddy is home to play! It was way too cold yesterday to take Reeden out, so instead Daylin brought him a snowball inside. The boy was seriously excited, well until it melted then he got sad! ;)

And today, he kept wanting to go outside, and we wanted to take him out for just a few minutes since he loved the snow so much last night. So we all bundled up and headed out for a few minutes of snow fun!  Despite the 3 layers of clothes and bulky coat that made it hard to even move, and the face plant in the snow that resulted from trying to move, Reeden was still all smiles and loving every minute! Daylin grabbed his little swimming pool from the garage and used it as a sled for him(whatever works, right?)  A quick look at our frozen pond was the end of the adventure, too cold for us! I hope you all are enjoying your snow days too, and being careful if you have to be out on the roads!
