Ceiling Fan Re-Do

Ok so we have been living in this house for 6 years, and I'm just now getting to this?! All of that time I have been looking at this poor, out of date, ugly ceiling fan hanging over our bed! I decided that instead of buying a new one, I would save money and just paint it. I mean it still works fine, so why pay a couple hundred dollars for a new one, when a little spray paint can spruce it up and make it look brand new! I'm so happy with how it turned out and can't wait to show you how well it goes with the rest of the bedroom redo! Here's a look at the before.

I know you are loving the fabulous designs on the fan blades!!

1. First, I had Daylin take it down for me. Make sure the power is off before doing this.

2. We took the blades and the rest of the detachable pieces off.

3. I dusted and washed each piece, then laid them out to dry.

4. For the fan blades, I chose Rust-Oleum Spray paint in Flat Brown.

5. For the base and hardware, I chose Rust-Oleum spray paint in Oil Rubbed Bronze. Make sure you tape the openings around the motor and the light bulb slots before painting.

6. Let those dry overnight and reassemble.

Here is the final result! I still want to change out the globes but other than that I'm so happy with my "NEW" ceiling fan!

So much better right?! A few more before and afters to really see the change:)
